Gaijin Entertainment, developers of the online game War Thunder, is pleased to announce the co-production of the movie “Panfilov’s 28 men” with the eponymous studio. War Thunder is now taking part in the organizational and technical aspects of the filming and supports it financially.
This war film is dedicated to the legendary deeds of the 28 soldiers from the Red Army's 316th Rifle Division that took part in the defense of Moscow in 1941 and destroyed 18 German tanks. The division was commanded by major-general Ivan Panfilov. This is why the soldiers have been given the name “28 Panfilov’s Guardsmen”. They were collectively endowed with the title Hero of the Soviet Union. The premiere of the movie is planned for November of 2015.
Gaijin Entertainment is well-known for its military history games. The main project of the company is currently War Thunder - an online MMO combat game dedicated to the World War II period of military aviation, armoured vehicles, and naval fleets. The game is remarkable for its historically realistic vehicles and drive for authenticity in all locations and missions.

An independent studio from Saint Petersburg, “28 Panfilov Guardsmen” was created by two producers and film directors Andrey Shalyopa and Kim Druzhinin.
