Gaijin Entertainment and Matter Team are excited to announce that the early version of the hardcore online shooter Active Matter is now live and available to play. Four game editions can be purchased now in the Gaijin Store, with three of them featuring different starting weapons and gear sets and the fourth including two extra copies of the game (for three friends to enjoy the game together online). Active Matter will be available for purchase on Steam and consoles in 2026; exact release dates, editions and pricing on these platforms will be announced at a later time.
The early version delivers dozens of PvPvE and PvE raids in locations scattered across Dalniy Island and lush African landscapes. Raids can be tackled solo or in a squad of up to three. In PvPvE missions, you will fight both monsters corrupted by active matter and rival operatives vying for the same loot. Isolated PvE missions let you explore the multiverse without being distracted by other human players. On the battlefield, players will encounter dangerous anomalies - from gravity-warping zones that let you run on walls and ceilings, to ball lightning that destroys everything in its path. Anomalies can be used to outsmart the enemy - for example, slipping behind enemies along the ceiling. Whenever a giant boss emerges, consider temporarily alliances: the risks in such battles are very high, but so are the rewards.
Having mastered the world of Active Matter, players can also take part in PvP battles on the global Battle for the Nexus map. There are separate locations built just for these fights, like the mysterious Aztec temples or futuristic skyscrapers. Unlike PvE and PvPvE, in PvP battles players do not risk losing gear if they die in battle.
In Active Matter, operatives have access to more than 60 types of realistic firearms - from the Makarov pistol to the M110A1 sniper rifle - with many modification options to suit your own style of play. For fans of melee weapons, there are knives, hammers, axes and even spears, and experts in modern warfare will love reconnaissance drones and robo-dogs. Finally, you can also utilize transport in battle: trucks, buggies, ATVs and even tanks.
You can learn more about the Active Matter multiverse on the official website of the game.
