Active Matter expands with Gigastructure

Gaijin Entertainment and the Matter Team are pleased to announce that the major update “Gigastructure” is now available for the hardcore online shooter Active Matter. Players can embark on raids in the new large-scale locations – mysterious Gigastructure and the overgrown Park – each offering unique tactical challenges, anomalies and opportunities for survival. A new kind of PvP battles is now available in Nexus, new monsters now roam Active Matter world, and the selection of weapons, attachments and gear is expanded and allows more customization options.

The Gigastructure itself stands as one of the most ambitious environments in the game so far – a colossal, brutalist megastructure hiding threats and rewards in equal measure. Its design is heavily influenced by the Soviet era Eastern European architecture, but immensely and grotesquely twisted by the active matter. In contrast, the Park blends nature with the unknown.  Situated between Shchegolsky and Dogorsk, it is dominated by a massive greenhouse. Flamethrowers and incendiary grenades are highly recommended for those who want to survive the approach.

In the new Mercenary operations mode in Nexus, players fight across vast maps using vehicles, deployable turrets and strategic reinforcements. Teams capture and hold key beacons to earn points, while respawns now occur in synchronized waves, bringing fallen players back into battle at regular intervals. Operators can call in support such as vehicles and even airstrikes, or unleash monsters onto the battlefield to disrupt enemy plans. The scale and pacing of these encounters create some of the most intense battles yet seen in Active Matter.

The update also delivers a new batch of weapons tailored for different combat scenarios. Close-quarters specialists will appreciate new submachine guns such as the Gepard, featuring a 40-round magazine, and the PP-2000, equipped with a Picatinny rail for optics and supporting extended 44-round magazines. For long-range engagements, players gain access to the VSSK “Vykhlop” sniper rifle with an integrated suppressor and the M24 with standard bipods. When facing multiple enemies, the EV-MG machine gun provides sustained firepower. Meanwhile, the APS automatic pistol allows players to quickly eliminate threats at close range with burst fire capability.

Most weapons can now be equipped with colored laser aiming devices, improving hip-fire accuracy, but potentially exposing the player’s position in low-light conditions.
