Cubic Odyssey begins with a crash landing on a distant planet in a star system plagued by the Red Darkness, a mysterious corrupting force that twists everything it touches – from creatures and plants to the very soil and stone. Players gather resources, construct their first base and repair a starship to begin their quest across a galaxy full of danger and wonder. The ultimate goal: to rid the world of the Red Darkness and save queen Atia .
Whether you choose to save the galaxy alone or join forces with friends in co-op mode, Cubic Odyssey offers a rich experience for every kind of player. Guiding your journey from the start is QB-1, a loyal drone companion providing you with vital tools such as a basic extractor, a workbench, and a weapon. QB-1 also scans terrain and reveals hidden ore, making mining and underground exploration more comfortable.
Players have access to an array of ranged weapons including pistols, carbines, shotguns, machine guns, and sniper rifles—each with unique handling, fire rate, and energy-based mechanics. Melee weapons are also available for up-close encounters. Hostile wildlife, space pirates, and corrupted beings infected by the Red Darkness ensure that threats lurk on every world and in every orbit.
Beyond combat and exploration, creativity plays a central role. Players can shape terrain, plant trees, construct bases, and build their vision of a habitable world. Starships themselves are fully customizable, constructed block-by-block with smaller elements than those that make up the planets.
